for the Online Purchase of Tickets for Heroes of Data & Privacy Event

1. Scope of the general terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all online purchases of tickets for Heroes of Data & Privacy — hereinafter referred to as “HoDP” or the “Event”.

2. Event

Heroes of Data & Privacy, HoDP, is an annual event organised and hosted by JENTIS GmbH — hereinafter “JENTIS” or “Organiser”. Unless otherwise provided, the event is held in hybrid format: online and offline at a venue selected by JENTIS each year. The Event’s contents are for audiences pursuing professional or business reasons. These Terms and Conditions are not intended for consumers in the meaning of Article 1.1(2) of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (KSchG).

3. Tickets

The access to the event and its contents is provided to attendees upon the purchase of one of the three categories of tickets:

4. Contract

The contract between the attendee and the Organiser is concluded upon the completion of the online purchase of the ticket. The online purchase of the ticket is completed when the attendee has paid and received an express confirmation of the full payment of the ticket purchased online with the electronic copy of the ticket.

The online ticket purchase is carried out through an online and hybrid events platform Hopin. By accepting the present Terms and Conditions, the attendee also accepts the Terms and Conditions of this platform in relation to all aspects associated with the online purchase of tickets and not covered by the present Terms and Conditions.

5. Ticket prices

The ticket prices are indicated at the HoDP website and are referred to upon online purchase of the tickets via Hopin online event platform. All listed prices include VAT; the relevant prices are the ones shown at the time of the online purchase. Tickets are non-refundable.

Purchase order for tickets shall only be processed when using the accepted payment methods. In case of unsuccessful payment attributable to the attendee (e.g. insufficient credit card or bank account coverage, chargeback), the Organiser shall be entitled to cancel the purchase order without compensation and/or to block the respective tickets; these shall lose their validity. Any additional costs incurred shall be reimbursed by the attendee. The Organizer reserves the right to claim further compensation where applicable.

6. Validity of the tickets, admission restrictions and right of cancellation

Tickets purchased pursuant to this Terms and Conditions shall be valid for the whole duration of the Event. The attendee is responsible for having the tickets at hand in printed or electronic form to be presented at the entrance point to the event or at the time of access to the Virtual Main Stage. No refunds or exchanges shall be provided for lost or stolen tickets or for a failure on the part of the attendee to present at the event.

The Organiser has the right to add or vary the Event program, seating arrangements and audience capacity and deny admission with reasonable cause including due to intoxication, unsociable behavior, failing to observe lawful directions, possession of invalid or insufficient tickets or ID or health and safety precautions.

7. Changes to format and date of or cancellation of the Event

The Organiser reserves the right to change the format of the event from hybrid to online, to reschedule or cancel event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such case the Organiser shall issue a timely notification to participants with respective information. In case of rescheduling or change of format the validity of tickets shall be upheld. The attendees have the right to transfer the ticket to someone else. To do so the attendee shall send a written request per email to office@jentis.com within 30 days from the date of notification about the respective changes to date and / or format of the Event.

If the Event is cancelled in its entirety due to any unforeseen circumstances, the Organiser has the sole and absolute right to:

8. Ticket Return or Transfer

This Event does not permit refund as a standard rule. In some extenuating circumstances, as an act of goodwill, a refund may be possible. Refund requests must be submitted by email to office@jentis.com with the explanation of the extenuating circumstances. A decision will be made by the Organiser. No on the spot refunds will be processed. The purchased tickets can be transferred to someone else at least 30 days prior to the conference upon a written request sent to office@jentis.com.

Personal data shall be collected, processed and otherwise used in accordance with the Privacy Policy, available at: privacy policy

10. Miscellaneous

All legal relations between the attendee and the Organiser shall be governed by Austrian law, with the exception of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of and/or in connection with the Contract between the attendee and the Organiser, to the extent permitted by applicable law, shall be the responsible court in Vienna, Austria. Place of performance is Vienna.

Should individual provisions of this Contract be invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions and an invalid provision shall be replaced by a provision which comes as close as possible to the economic purpose of the invalid provision and which is effective.
